![]() ![]() The real trick was carving away that which was Sin without killing what remained of Jecht. A being existing primarily as a guardian or warrior fighting to protect was something that she could accept, but Sin was nothing more than a drawn out apocalypse opposed even by those it was using as fuel.ĭestroying Sin wasn't too difficult with the forces that we could bring. The idea of a sea monster that existed purely as a mindless force of a destruction was one that she objected to. She was a sea creature larger than Australia, and some would consider her a monstrosity. Bobbie was especially eager to put an end to Sin. It was objectionable from a kind and compassionate standpoint, and it also offended us on a professional level as summoners. Sin was nothing more than a mindless monster, and each Final Aeon became a possessed slave that was remade into the new Sin to continue this whole process. Sin and the Final Aeon were powerful creations, and were more reminiscent of Gaia's eidolons or the Weapons. Yu Yevon had rapidly degraded into little more than a parasite mindlessly maintaining the summoning. The Fayth were alive, and had become slaves to the summoning process as time went on. The creation and maintaining of Dream Zanarkand was amazing, but it wasn't worth the price. Directly taking shape as summons if properly guided, remaining as unsent, or even helping sustain blitzball players while they were competing in the water. Forming spheres was very similar to materia, but they could do so much more. They were a form of the same spirit energy that could condense into mako, but they seemed less rigid, for lack of a better technical term, in how they could take form. ![]() They were all fascinating, and they would all have an impact on what we would make and become. Spheres, the Farplane, the Fayth, Zanarkand, Sin, and summoners. This particular world continued that trend. The ones that shaped our experiences, and the ones that defined us. Their were other powers and assorted benefits, but those insights were the ones that were the big ones. The main insights that we were gaining from the worlds in this section of existence were regarding the nature and methods of summoning, the nature and mechanics of the afterlife, the nature of memory, and how people and magic interact with one another. Starting CP: 1000cpOn the chain we jumped from world to world gaining powers, insights, and experiences. Combine all of that together, along with the methods for infusing magic into machines or biology, and the sky wasn't even a limit in what we might be able to design. Now we had encountered a method of casting magic at a constant level of power with a drastically reduced cost in magical energy. We had also known how to apply our mad scientist minds to the development and crafting of spells, and had recently gained some dramatically increased insight into that. We had long ago, back when we first picked up materia, learned how a given bit of magic could be made more powerful by pouring in more magical energy when casting. There was also the matter of redefining what a given bit of magic was. Magicite gradually granted its powers to the one wielding it, and that was a great quality to add to our creations. We had methods of working around that, but it was naturally limited to being used by the one holding it while they held it. Materia was a tool that we had learned to make decades and jumps ago. It also allowed us to solidly improve the magical crystals that we were already making. The knowledge of magicite, magitek, and the process by which magical energy could be infused in a system helped us refine it though. The process was one that we would have been able to develop even before we came here. I had already merged with a spirit of the Phoenix summon from Gaia, and that aspect of myself grew and matured in a give and take with the Phoenix magicite. Essence and other mystic energies were slowly channeled to it to become something more. We implanted it in my body, and connected it with my soul. Even in its weakened form it could briefly restore someone that died in this world. ![]() Absorb its power as people do with magicite, study it, nurture and repair it, and fully replicate it. ![]() It was a major step in that direction though. The magicite was old and weakened, and wasn't perfect resurrection on demand. That meant coming to this world, finding the Phoenix Cave, and acquiring the legendary treasure of the Gestahlian Empire, the Phoenix magicite. Both were great, but we were looking for the next step in restoring life to the deceased. We didn't merely want the power to heal, or the power to extend life. The powers of Phoenix were mighty, but we wanted a world where they were mightier yet. It wasn't quite a perfect method of resurrection yet, but that is why we came here. Starting CP: 1000cpWe had learned of esper form summons, and I had gained the loyalty of the Resurrection Stone. ![]()
